Specialized pension provider Liberty Pension is launching its own pension app. This will initially include an account solution accessible with a few clicks as well as a personal securities solution. As a special feature, the initial connection to the digital solution comes with personalized client service. The app was developed in collaboration with St. Gallen based fintech Kaspar& and will be gradually expanded into a comprehensive pension solution.
As the leading independent pension platform in Switzerland, Liberty already serves more than 50,000 Swiss clients in the areas of pillar 3a, vested benefits, BVG and 1e. Liberty is now taking another major step in the digitization of its offering with the launch of the new pension app “MyLiberty”. The solution provides a straightforward, clear and intuitive handling, making retirement planning accessible to those who have previously found the topic complicated or burdensome. This is provided via an additional special feature: as opposed to other, purely digital pension apps, Liberty offers a personal client service. Clients can access and manage their pillar 3a digitally and at the same time they can receive personal advice and support whenever they wish. Advice is provided in German, English, French and Italian, thus covering all of Switzerland.
In an initial step, the MyLiberty app offers new clients the opportunity to open a 3a account or securities solution in just a few clicks. The ease of access to the account is particularly noteworthy, as it only takes a few minutes to open an account or investment solution. The securities solution offers a selection of three different investment options: a passive index solution, ESG-oriented portfolios, or active best-in-class investment funds. “Through our new MyLiberty app, we not only offer what is probably Switzerland’s most straightforward 3a account solution, but also enables access to a broad range of attractive investment solutions,” explains Oliver Bienek, CEO of Liberty. With a maximum fee of 0.45% and interest rate of 0.60% p.a. on the account, MyLiberty positions itself as a competitive solution in the Swiss market and is one of the best value pension solutions.
The new app was developed in collaboration with Kaspar&, a fintech company based in St. Gallen, which specializes in investments. Since the beginning of 2024, the startup has also been offering its technology to select B2B partners. “Through the collaboration with Liberty, we can help more people save and invest with simple solutions, bringing the topic to the masses,” says Jan-Philip Schade, co-founder and CEO of Kaspar&.
While the solution will initially only include a 3a offering, a phased expansion plan is already in place. “We also aim to make MyLiberty THE digital one-stop shop for pensions in Switzerland over the medium term,” says Oliver Bienek. He continues: “In addition to the current 3a offering, we also offer you the opportunity to manage your own vested benefits and obtain an overview of your personal BVG pension plan and assets.” “With the current MyLiberty app, we are taking a major initial step, and we already look forward to the next expansion phases,” says Bienek.
