Review of the Finanzplaner Conference in Zurich on 25 March 2014

This year’s edition of the Conference of the FinanzPlaner Verband Schweiz FPVS was held on 25 March 2014 at the customary Zürichberg location with its wonderful view and excellent infrastructure.

The FPVS conference, an event that is extremely sought-after and highly regarded by the financial industry, was again co-sponsored by Liberty Pensions. Liberty was competently and professionally represented by Messrs. Heijmann and Galliker who are responsible for sales in Zurich and east and central Switzerland.

As usual, the organisers had arranged several diverse and extremely topical presentations which were greatly appreciated by the visitors who had turned out in large numbers. No wonder since this year’s conference again attracted top-class speakers with impressive track records in private industry and public administration.

During the day, participants attended presentations covering a wide range of subjects, including changes in rules and regulations, asset management, taxation, occupational benefits and future remuneration models. They also made good use of the chance to obtain comprehensive information, learn and exchange views with exhibitors.

In the afternoon, participants were invited to attend the FPVS General Meeting in the auditorium and hear more about the activities and prospects of the trade association.

Over drinks after the General Meeting, guests and exhibitors had the opportunity for networking, making new (business) contacts, exchanging views and talking shop about other business sectors in an informal setting.

From Liberty’s point of view, the event was a complete success. Our representatives engaged in technical discussions with about 25% of the approximately 180 participants registered for the event; contacts were initiated with the potential to generate new business and consolidate and sustain Liberty’s expansion on the Swiss pension market.
