Liberty News – Digitisation – Liberty Vorsorge AG, quo vadis?
Over time, Liberty Pension has established itself as a full-service partner for occupational benefit and individual retirement plans.
Recognised for its innovative spirit, and conscious that it must remain ahead of the pack in responding to the demanding needs of its clientele, Liberty prioritised digitisation from the outset.
In this context, Liberty News conducted the following interview with Patrick Kaeslin, head of the Galaxy digitisation project:
How does the Company show its affinity for digital transformation?
We decided to call the project "Galaxy" because our premises are located in the Milchstrasse (Milky Way). The association with an Asian electronics brand was pure coincidence and not at all intentional.
The idea of creating an interactive platform for a range of occupational benefits activities is part of Liberty's DNA, and has been a key driver since the Company's inception. We are now going a step further: in the next few months the existing platform will give way to a new, intelligent, fully networked digital system.
In this context, our processes will be improved, as will the value-added chain and the interconnection with the various correlated systems.
What was the decisive factor in launching so big and significant a project?
Liberty Pension has always been committed to innovation. Being able to handle administrative matters anytime, anywhere and autonomously, e.g. via mobile devices, is in keeping with the times.
In this perspective, the time was ripe to further develop our existing system. Five years ago, we launched the first complete online account-opening process which has since become increasingly popular.
A fully integrated, user-friendly IT environment is designed to enable customers to handle the various steps easily and comfortably, while at the same time giving the user a sense of achievement and helping him overcome any reservations with regard to pension matters.
What can customers look forward to once the project is implemented?
We are aiming for a tried and tested, easy-to-use IT environment where the user is free to decide how, where and when to contact Liberty Pension.
The system encompasses all Liberty foundations, direct customers and sales partners. Within the protected area, customers have digital access to their own data, records and forms.
Subsequently, we plan to extend the system to handle securities transactions, particularly purchase and sale orders, as well as payments and transfers, and the processing of changes.
Patrick Kaeslin, thank you for talking to us.
