Liberty News - Safe and secure through the crisis

Safe and secure through the crisis

To our esteemed Clients and Business Partners

The purpose of this letter is to inform you about the precautionary steps Liberty Pension Ltd has taken to respond appropriately to the COVID-19 pandemic declared by the WHO and to the measures ordered by the Federal Council to protect the population.

Safety measures

Our first and foremost priority is to mitigate the risks for our employees, clients and business partners. Accordingly, we are strictly observing the recommendations of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and have already implemented a number of measures.

We have banned all external meetings. All departments, if possible, have switched to working from home remotely. Shiftwork has been introduced and teams are spread out over different floors and locations.

Continuation of business

To ensure the continuation of business, we have taken the following steps:

  • - With immediate effect, all Liberty forms, documents and attachments (e.g. account opening applications, offers, BVG/LPP and 1e affiliation agreements, stock exchange orders, Liberty Connect applications, lists of changes,       etc.) will be accepted in electronic form delivered by email. EXCEPTIONS: Transfer orders, partner designations and changes in beneficiaries will only be accepted in the original form.
  • - We are doing our utmost to deliver our processing output to business partners by email. Where this is not yet possible, output will continue to be sent by post. In the next few days, we shall ask business partners to provide     any missing email addresses.
  • - Access to the Liberty Connect portal will be granted per request after receiving the ad hoc form by email. Clients in the collective benefits area (BVG/LPP and 1e) may also apply to receive processing output by email.

Our staff are committed to maintaining the highest quality service throughout these challenging times. They are fully prepared to carry on working as customary, preserving the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all data.

However we would like to point out, that if due to unforeseen circumstances the postal services are hindered, we could no longer guarantee timely processing. Therefore, we recommend that clients and business partners make use of the above-mentioned electronic mailing options.

Delays due to increased demand

Due to the current market situation, we are currently experiencing a sharp rise in the number of account opening applications as well as increased trading activity. As a result, we are receiving a significantly greater number of calls and enquiries than usual. We therefore ask for your understanding, should there be any delay in processing your requests, and recommend that you henceforth channel your enquiries only through the following service centres and, whenever possible, by email:

Business Partners, Corporate and Private Clients / Romandie and Ticino
Versoix, phone +41 58 733 03 33, serviceclient@liberty.ch

Model portfolios in times of crisis

Model portfolios, which are already implemented (BVG Fund Invest, Mandate Invest with funds), enable clients and business partners to navigate market turbulences even in times of crisis. The existing model portfolios are designed to be implemented on a monthly basis. However, there may be some restrictions for individual investments (e.g. Multi Fund Invest), strategy changes or Mandate Invest with sub-group bank accounts.

All systems fully operational

Despite the increased volume of activity, our systems and IT infrastructure are fully operational. Our service providers have taken the necessary precautions to guide us through this period of uncertainty as smoothly as possible.

We shall duly implement any forthcoming recommendations and orders of the Federal Council, as well as the Federal Office of Public Health and will keep you informed in this regard.

In advance, we would like to thank you for your understanding. May you, your family and friends come through this difficult time safely.

Yours truly

Liberty Pension Ltd.
